Vintage plaid
***I love this outfit, sadly I didn’t get it posted before I put the Christmas decor out. So please excuse the November decor.
One of the fun parts of Thrifted Thursday is to find unique pieces that someone no longer wanted and then gussy them up into a chic, head turner outfit.
This cute oufit started with a heck of a great vintage deal. Pendleton skirts, in good shape are really hard to find. $6?? I could sell it right now for $50-$75 so this was a great investment piece. Notice that it’s a size 14, ummm no, I could barely get it zipped. Vintage wool always runs painfully small. But it’s a good thing I always look at all sizes or I would have missed out on this gem.
I chose to layer several items to show you can wear it a few different ways. The 1st and normal way is a $3 Banana Repbulic basic button-down with a $3 Merona sweater vest. I chose an emerald green to pull that color out of the plaid. The 2nd is adding a $1 wool tie for a bit of oommpf!
Next, I added the $7 Banana Republic belted cape, and I added a fur scarf, (I forgot the gloves) which will cut the winter chill and up-style anything you wear, now the glam party is starting.
When I took the photos, the wind was going crazy, the outfit held up and kept me toasty so it will make it into the fall rotation going forward. $19 for a stylish and weather sustainable outfit!
Blessings,
Eden
