Thrifted Thursday mix & match vintage houndstooth 4 ways

Houndstooth. The print has been around for the longest time and will probably always be. It’s just a classic plaid you can’t go wrong with.

I found this beautiful vintage houndstooth swing skirt when we took a trip to Ft Worth, they have a massive thrift store where the prices are just crazy low, and each week the price drops even more! I couldn’t believe it was only $6.06, what a weird price lol but I’ll happily take it, this was a quality vintage piece worth substantially more. The $7 jacket goes so well with the newsboy hat and boots that I have had for years.

As spring is about to knock on the door, I wanted to pair it with some fun vibrant colors, and also just a basic black sweater. There really is no limit to what you can wear with this print. The black and cream Ann Taylor sweater $8 and the hot pink sweater $3, were also from Ft Worth, purchased from NBC my most favorite of all stores! If you have one in your area, do yourself a favor and try it out, you will be amazed at their prices.

The $10 pants are Express, The Limited vibrant yellow turtleneck was only $6 and it just gives that sunny feeling bright before the seasons change, but still warm since it’s still a little chilly outside. Using the scarf also as a belt ties in the color. I almost always wear a colorful shoe, as I did in the hot pink version, it’s kind of like a signature for me but in the next variations, I decided to keep the matching boots just for something different. In the plain one, I wanted the only pop of color to be the purse.

I’ve had the houndstooth boots for years and they match so perfectly. I could have done a bright top but I just wanted it all to be more toned down. Adding just pearls, with no bright colors to compete with, the outfit can just stand alone in a fun librarian kind of way lol.

I am sure you will see this skirt again, styled a lot of different ways. So much fun shopping in a different place and getting such great deals.
