A 75 cent dress!

Y’all know I am a frugal fashionista, but the price of this dress is what thrift myths are made of lol. This groovy cutie pie by Sangria was just 75 cents. That’s not a typo. I bought it and several other really nice things for under $1. How did I score these great items for next to nothing?

I took a recent trip to the BINS. If you are not familiar with it, Goodwill sends things they don’t sell to their Goodwill outlet also known by thrifters as the BINS, we call it that because all the items are just tossed in huge rolling bins that you have to sort through… with a ton of other people. They change out the BINS every 30 minutes so you have to shop fast. It’s not for the faint of heart, to say the least, it’s thrift shopping on crack lol.

When I say a lot of people, I am not kidding, the minute they roll a cart out it is descended upon and the frenzy begins like there’s free money in it. It’s understandable, the items are sold by the pound, starting at $1.50 and it goes down the more you buy. Resellers can make a lot of money from the BINS so it’s always packed with them.

I love a great fashion deal but I rarely go there because of the excessive crowds and how hot it gets in the store. I’ll pay extra to shop in peace, and not deal with people fighting over a used blouse. I am always shocked by how crazy people get there.

I needed 20 neckties for a project I am working on, part of the challenge is doing it for as little $ as possible. Goodwill charges $5 per tie so that was out, but at the BINS, I was able to get 13 of them for just $3. Quite the savings and well worth the trip, especially since I found some other great vintage pieces that I can’t wait to style.

Back to this outfit, it’s crazy when a hat is more expensive than your dress lol. I just bought it at Walmart for $20. It matches my favorite blue strappy heels, so they are now outfit partners.

The print on the dress is a little wild, but it has an Emilo Pucci meets Versace vibe going on that I love. If I wore it once, it more than paid for itself lol. It is shorter than I prefer but adding a pair of shorts underneath made it an easy fix. There is a small snag in the front, but for .75 I wouldn’t expect it to be perfect. It also has pockets, extra bonus points!!

Sangria dresses run between $50-$100 new so this is such a great buy. I may give the BINS another spin down the road, I will need to work out a little more to fight the crowd first lol.

Blessings,

Eden
