Thrifted Thursday Hello YELLOW!

Is there a happier color than yellow? I don’t think so. Normally, such a soft and dreamy color, but not these 2. They are YELL-OOH since they yell at your eyeballs lol, similar to looking at a light bulb too long, the glare sticks with you.

When I found this $1 Seventh Ave. pencil skirt at the bins, I surmised it made it there because of it’s overly sunny hue. They can be hard to style without creating an eye circus. As a self-proclaimed ringmaster of OTT pieces and styling, the shade didn’t deter me one bit lol.

I thought the skirt was really bright until the color ante was raised with the J. Crew pants, pop of color? Nah, these are POP you in the mouth yellow lol. They make the skirt look pale and almost sickly in comparison. When I saw them at GW, I was like a moth to the searing yellow flame. $8 is a small price to pay for such memorable pants. I am never one to back down from a fashion challenge and knew exactly how I wanted to style these 2 brilliant yellow pieces.

It all started with a LOFT vintage yellow and navy pinstripe vest, also at the BINS for just $1. My best deal recently for sure. I love this thing. The dark navy is a perfect complement to help ground the loud colors.

Borrowing a tie from hubs closet to pull the colors together, I added a navy edged button-down and long blazer draped over my shoulders. The vintage chain belt was also a thrifted find a few years ago. Who else remembers these belts from the 80’s? It is an OTT piece by itself.

A $10 J.Crew navy fedora from Poshmark gives just the right flair for this menswear style. J.Crew rules the day here. These pants are not for everyone, and that’s exactly why I love them!
