Thrifted Thursday velvet Partridge

Are you all ready for Christmas? For this merry thrifted Thursday, how about a Partridge without a pear tree? I am going to date myself and go waay back in time for some beloved vintage inspiration. When I was little I never missed the Partridge family sitcom. I loved David Cassidy, and like most girls thought I would certainly marry him someday lol. I also really loved their groovy outfits too!

Fast forward a few decades to finding this $10 velvet double-breasted blazer by Renamed. When I did a little research, it was running for about $60-80 just for the jacket, so it was a good buy, but also found that it was actually part of a suit! I was then on a mission to find the pants, which I did on eBay for $20, the only pair on the net at the time and they were the right size. Yay for me, it was meant to be.

When it came to how I wanted to style it, I had set my mind on a white Victorian ruffle shirt. I didn’t know why but nothing else I tried would click for me. I did a quick search to try and find the source of the random inspiration since I couldn’t remember seeing anything similar recently. Where on earth did I get this idea from? Pinterest? Liberace?? Austin Powers?? Umm noo… Shirley Partridge.

I can remember her wearing that burgundy suit with a ruffle shirt soo many times on the show, I guess it just stuck with me all these years

Memory is a funny thing, I can remember what Shirley Partridge wore in the 70’s, but then the same day stand in the pantry for 5 minutes wondering what the heck I came in there for lol.

Blessings,

Eden
