Goodbye to the iron door
Once again, I apologize for being absent for so long. I really appreciate the messages of concern, yall are truly the best. I have missed posting and putting fun outfits together, especially now, since fall is my favorite fashion season.
These last few months have been quite the roller coaster for me, I am a vanilla personality type of girl, the only change I like is in my outfits so the firehose of changes in my life has been quite the adjustment.
In the last 3 months, I lost my mom, we had to put our beloved German shepherd down, and we put our house on the market to move closer to our grandkids, it sold much faster than we thought so we put EVERYTHING in storage, moved to a new state and grabbed an Airbnb thinking it wouldn’t be long to find a new home… well, that didn’t happen lol, but that story is for another post.
I am so grateful to be so much closer to our family, this was the right choice, however, it was really hard to say goodbye to Texas, to friends, our church, and the life we loved in the country, to this house, where many happy memories were made. The beautiful iron door was the first thing I fell in love with when we toured the house the first time, it has been the backdrop of countless outfits, family pix, and holiday decor. It has become a bit of my CFIH identity. I will certainly miss it. It is time to close one chapter to start a new one. ALL my things are still in boxes, waiting for their new home. I didn’t think it would be this long. I will be excited to show you our new place when the renovations are done. The new home is a completely different style than the last, with just enough work to keep me busy and excited about putting a new stamp on the blank page of our new life here. I am certainly out of my comfort zone, but looking forward to making new friends, find new shopping haunts, and make this our HOME. While I will always be hesitant to change, sometimes vanilla just needs a few sprinkles to bring out the best.
I have taken pix of a lot of outfits that I never posted, so until I can get the closet built and everything out of storage I will use them, it will be a way to hold on to the iron door a few weeks longer.
