About Crowsfeet in heels

Hello! Or Howdy, as some say here in Texas. My name is Eden. I am a fashion and DIY project enthusiast. In a world that tells you to spend more to have nice things, I like to challenge that notion and spend as little as possible to create the looks I like. Crows feet in heels was born from my love of pushing the fashion envelope, showing women of all ages that you don’t have to spend a lot to be stylish.

I am over 50, and I am pretty sure the fashion police have me on their most wanted list as I am a serial offender of “fashion rules” I don’t feel that a number should define or restrict my style. If I like it, I wear it, I am a firm believer that confidence is the first piece of any great outfit.

Most blogs for over 50 fashion, while perfectly age-appropriate, just don’t resonate with me. It’s not where I am in my fashion journey, at least not yet. I still wear stilettos and love unique clothing. I haven’t submitted to what I call the “grandma uniform” just yet.

Like most women, I enjoy looking at those “perfect Martha Stewart life” social media pages, but that is so not us. LOL. Not even close. We have a large family, daily I feel like I am trying to corral feral cats. So you won’t see beautiful photos of gourmet meals I made or me asking you to try a $200 face cream. You will see what’s in my closet, how I shop, style, re-style, or recreate my fashion finds usually for under $20. With my DIY projects, I really love finding something cheap and ugly and giving it a new sassy identity.

About me

I am mom to 7 amazing adults and 2 dogs, Mimi to 8 adorable grandsons, wife to my best friend and LOVE of my life, and daughter to my funny mom who lives with us. Above all else, I am a proud, unashamed, and completely imperfect Christian. I am thankful for my life and know where all of my blessings come from.

Sizing reference-I am 5’2, 116 lbs, and normally wear a 2-4. You will see a variety of sizes on my blog since sizes can vary so much by brand and vintage clothing has a much different sizing chart than today. I alter what does not fit correctly.

Why a blog?

I am not a techy person so honestly, this is all out of my comfort zone. The pandemic had left my fashionista heart feeling like I had been exiled to the island of FRUMP. I wanted to shed the sweatpants and dress up again to have some fun. Also, gravity is taking hold so I want to capture my style, creating a lookbook of all my outfits. I would love to trade ideas with other like-minded fru-gals.

My style is not for everyone, but if you like what you see, do come back and tell your friends! I would love to see your finds!

Hope your day is wonderful and blessed,

Eden
