Western Wednesday overalls

Howdy y’all! A funny thing we hear in Texas from people who visit is the erroneous assumption that EVERYONE here is a cowboy, wears boots and hats and that we are more of a yee-haw crowd. Some parts of Texas maybe, but we are close to Austin, who’s slogan is “Keep Austin weird” lol. Since so many are moving to the Lonestar state now, I’d say I see more trendy types and a little less of us cowboy-clothes lovin’ folk when we go to “town” lol… I’m kidding, of course, we really don’t speak like that. Since I like uppity and country style, I can sit on both sides of the fence. This outfit though… can’t say it does much to dispel those assumptions lol.

Overalls have been around since the 1800s, their durability made them the basic uniform of OG country style... they have come a long way since then, and decade after decade keep their following. Vintage bibs are all the rage now, your grandpa’s old $20 Sears overalls now can sell for $150. The youngers just can’t get enough of old-timey fashion awesomeness lol.

Overalls are the bridge that connects city & country dwellers alike. I could throw on Sperry’s a baseball cap and a cardigan with them or a fur vest and cowboy boots to give them a totally different vibe. They are versatile which is always my favorite type of clothing.

For fun though, I think I will show up to the airport in this outfit just for laughs since it seems to be what some envision Texans will be like lol. If you haven’t been to Texas, I highly recommend a visit. You might go back home with a nice pair of boots and a bunch of new friends… oh and the best BBQ you will ever eat!

Blessings,

Eden
