Thrifted Thursday $20 pretty in pink
Happy Thursday! Today’s ensemble was so much fun to put together! Ultra glam, fur, boots, plus stilettos, and all in PINK! It was love at first idea since I envisioned the whole outfit before I even hit the checkout counter lol.
As a die-hard girly girl, pink is one of my favorite colors. Any shade of it makes me fashion happy. With its tan undertone, blush is like the favorite adult sister in the pink family, still fun but more mature.
When I saw the dress on the rack the color and the heaviness of the fabric drew me in. I was shocked that it was only $7! Upon further inspection, the dress was homemade, which most likely resulted in the lower price.
I am always shocked by the amazing sewing talent some people possess. If I sew a button straight I call that good. This is a bandage dress which is an awful fabric to work with, plus all the lines and detail would have made me throw it in the fire, pat myself on the back for a good effort, then have a glass of sangria to celebrate its demise lol.
When the fashion powers that be aptly named this style of dress bandage, they were spot on. I’m not going to lie, it fits like a tourniquet lol. No cheeseburger for lunch if you are wearing it out on the town lol. I was reminded of an old funny saying that “it is better to look good than to feel good” lol. That is true of this dress.
The lace-up snakeskin boots were only $13! They had a pinkish tone so in the cart they went. A $20 outfit from this thrifting trip. I already had the other things in the vault to bring the outfit together. I also styled it with heels to give it a more sophisticated look, even though I love the edginess of the boots. For winter, boots just go better with a large fur scarf. The cape/wrap is actually just a long vest I thrifted a while ago for $8, I just draped it around my shoulders. It matches so well it looks like it could have come with the dress. Accessories and fun shoes are all really you need to make any outfit pop. I found some great deals this week, I can’t wait to show them all to you soon!
Blessings,
Eden
