Thrifted Thursday vintage Pendleton skirt 2 ways

If you have followed my blog, you know how much I love plaid and vintage items. So when I find both of my loves together in one skirt, it will almost always end up in my cart.

When it comes to vintage plaid skirts, Pendleton is my pick as the grand-poo-bah of them all! I have several and always hold on to them because they just keep increasing in value.

Thank goodness they are well lined because it’s vintage old school wool, so it’s that itchy kind that you never want touching your skin. It does not deter me though, the patterns remain vibrant after decades and they are so well made. The going rate for them can range from $30-$100+ depending on how rare it is to find. At the time of this post, I do not see another one like it listed.

I can usually spot Pendleton quickly when I see it on the rack, so I was oh so excited when saw the print peeking out of the skirt aisle. I was even more excited when I saw the $5.99 price tag!

The waists on these skirts are ridiculously small. I could barely button it if I held my breath, and it is a size 8. Vintage sizing never makes you feel good lol. It’s a simple fix to move a button.

Since I love mixing old and new pieces together, I styled it 2 different ways, with a vintage double-breasted coat that I have had for years and also a moto leather jacket, both picked up the tan in the plaid. This is my version of the current pleated prep skirt trend lol. I am just not a big fan of mini-skirts on me.

Switching up accessories help to change the look. Snakeskin boots, a peek-a-boo turtleneck, and leopard sunglasses just to add a modern kick for the old gal skirt. She has held up pretty well all these years. I love that it’s still cute decades later, oh the stories this skirt could tell!

Have an incredible day!
