Vintage teal houndstooth suit

I didn’t realize how many houndstooth pieces I owned until this blog. It’s certainly a print that I never grow tired of. This one is very rare though since the colors are teal and tan. Not the typical black and white you can find everywhere.

I have had this Amanda Smith long blazer skirt set for probably 20+ years. It’s now considered vintage lol just as I am. I bought it at NBC, I don’t remember the price but I doubt it was more than $20 since I was on a really tight fashion budget back then. The tags on it were $200, which was pricey during that time frame. I will never part with this set, it’s such a rare and beautiful find.

Just swapping belts from outside to inside and the width of them is the only changes I make here. Wearing a belt over a blazer is a great way to define the waist on a loose fitting jacket. The sleeveless turtleneck is extra long which helps to elongate my frame, I always need that lol.

Vintage pieces have such staying power. They are always a good investment!
