Jones NY suit & gold tipped boots
When I find a great vintage item that I really like, I will do a search for the same designer and see what might spark an interest. I recently did a post on a blue Jones NY suit that I thrifted for $13. I loved the long jacket and it’s superior quality so I wanted to see if it came in another color or print.
I found this on Mercari for $19 plus $8 shipping. SHIPPING hmmpf. Amazon has spoiled me to not want to pay it. I have to admit part of being old means I get salty about the most ridiculous things, like paying too much for shipping. $8 is nothing, but in my day shipping was so low… and Rick Springfield was also on the cassette player lol. “In my day” 3 words all oldie people say when they are getting ready to go on a rant.
I realize I am not great with shipping patience, again I blame Amazon’s quick delivery. I have several things I ordered while I was sick and I am still waiting on some of them. This got caught up somewhere and it took over 2 weeks to come in. I had expected it to be a brown herringbone, but it ended up being more tan and black-ish. I prefer to shop in person vs online for clothes, I am just never as happy when I don’t get to see it in person first. The suit, while not my favorite color, is just so well made. I encourage you to add a trench suit to your vintage list if you have such a thing.
I love that I could also wear the jacket with jeans or other outfits. A belted jacket is so slimming and should be a staple in every woman’s closet.
So let’s talk about those crazy metal-tipped boots… I bought them at my favorite store, NBC for $19. Over-the-knee boots are great for me when I want to wear a skirt that is a little shorter than I like or I want my pitifully short legs to appear a little longer lol. I am always a sucker for an unusual shoe. Suit & boots is one of my favorite combos!
As well made as the suit is, I will most likely sell this one so someone else can enjoy it, it’s too big and I have enough black in the vault for now.
Have an amazing day!
