Thrifted Thursday $4 maxi skirt 3 ways

Did you know you can style a maxi skirt into 3 different outfits? Oh, how I love thee stretchy waistband… let me count the ways.

When I saw this gorgeous Roz & Ali maxi skirt with its bold floral print, it was LOVE at first sight. The flowers have beads sewn on them to catch the light. Coming in at a whopping $4, these are the things thrift fairy tales are made of.

First up, easy peasy as is, skirt, just how it was intended. I opted for a button-down shirt(Banana Republic) to help tone down the formality of the long skirt since I wanted to pair it with the hat. The wide brim hat gives off that hint of sweet southern charm. I bought it at an outdoor mall for $8.

Beautiful navy and white striped heels by Shoe Dazzle were a perfect match and a $13 steal from Poshmark. This whole look has a southern belle-ish, garden party vibe that I love. Ultra-feminine and sweet.

2nd option, wear it as a strapless dress. As long as the elastic is not too tight, this is a great way to restyle a skirt. Add a belt and you are out the door. Adding a blazer could be another option.

3rd option, pulling one side of the waistband over your shoulder, grab the middle of the hem, and tucking it into the waistband, you create an armhole. Secure at the shoulder with a brooch or flower pin. Belt and then gather the side by the legs. This is best to do this with a skirt that has an extra stretchy waistband and thinner material so you won’t have bulky gathers.

There you have it! 3 ways to style a maxi skirt. A great $4 investment! Thrift stores always have inexpensive maxi skirts, if you are not into thrifting, Shein.com has cute ones under $20. Just make sure wherever you buy one that the waistband is extra stretchy!

Blessings,
