The ALMOST perfect summer dress

When I decided to create a lookbook of my clothes I didn’t factor in how hard it would be to take those pretty outdoor summer photos I see everywhere. Through trial and error, (and a freaking abnormal amount of sunblock) I have learned to take them before 8 in the morning or after 7 in the evening. The time between that will scorch your retinas lol.

I made the rookie mistake of taking these at 9 in the morning, I didn’t think an extra hour would make a difference…

You can see from the corner of the rug and my left hand what an August morning looks like in Texas…

I guess the “closed eye” will be a popular pose for me on the balcony until October.

Enough complaining about the sun… Let’s talk about this ADORABLE Grecian/boho baby, I adopted at NBC for only $9!!

I wish I could tell you who makes it so you could find one for yourself, but the tag has been removed. That’s commonplace with NBC, since it is a liquidator, some designers/higher-end stores cut or remove the label to show that the item was liquidated and/or not able to be returned. If you know who makes this dress please let me know so I can update this post in the future.

Bright white, deep pockets, full skirt, boho vibe and feminine lace, checks almost all of my summer “LOVE IT” boxes. BUT…“almost” perfect because of the front and back deep plunge, a little too deep for me but nothing a bandeau didn’t solve. The plunge gives it the sexy yet feminine vibe, it’s daring but a wowser for sure.

Without the bandeau, you would need some type of double-sided tape or stand perfectly still the entire time you are wearing it as to not have a major wardrobe malfunction lol. I need to add some stabilizing straps or a lace panel to the front to make it my “perfect” summer dress.

My daughters all love this dress and needless to say so does hubs lol. I am sure I will have no problem finding it a home when it’s time to retire it.

Have an intentionally happy day!!
