DIY floral swing

I love all things romantic. Movies, dresses, fabrics, my awesome hubs, etc. So when I saw this floral swing on Pinterest, I knew it was a must-have photo prop for an upcoming party.

Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the 1st construction. It’s a short shopping list, $8 pine board & $10 rope from Lowes and this $12 pink multi-pack of floral garland from Amazon.

When the garland came in, it wasn’t as thick as it looked in the photo, even putting 3 together per side, it was still cute, so I didn’t think it would matter…until I saw the photos I took with 2 of my beautiful daughters. First I needed to adjust it so it was straight lol, but I felt the flowers just looked too puny. You know me, go big or go home…

It needed to be lusher, so off to Hobby Lobby, the answer to all my design dilemmas. I could have bought extra greenery to make it look more like the photo, but instead, I bought 2 extra garlands with larger flower heads to mix in with them. They were 50% off so it was $30 for both. With the 2nd try I took photos so you could see the top, bottom and how it was secured underneath. The board needs to be sealed but I take it down after each use so the hell fire sun won’t bleach out the flowers.

I like it so much better now. I will probably add some greenery and change out the garland for winter / Christmas parties.
