MOM

Hi friends. I know I have been MIA for a bit, I so appreciate the check in’s and messages, y’all are just the best. It’s been a tough month, I am still trying to process and say the words that my mom passed away. She went to the hospital on her 89th birthday and a week later she was gone. All along I was certain she would come back home, she’s been living with us for years and has been in and out of the hospital, she had a lot of health issues but always seemed to beat them. This time she was going in for minor surgery and it just took a crazy turn. Logically, I knew this day was coming, especially at her age, but the day she died she was telling jokes and full of life, no matter what age they go, I don’t think you are ever ready to lose your mom.

She was a funny spitfire and kept me on my toes, she was always cracking a joke, a forever foodie, always in the kitchen making something wonderful for anyone that came by, she fed so many throughout her life.

She was a beauty and loved to take photos, she was the OG with selfies lol. I am so glad she did because now I can’t get enough of looking at them. She was so put together and fancy when she was young, and passed that fashion bug to me and my beautiful sister. To say I miss her is such an understatement, but I know she is always with me, I am comforted that she is truly healed, more alive than ever, and enjoying her new perfect home with Jesus. I know I will see her again.

She taught me so many life lessons, to be fierce and filled with faith, to embrace life no matter the circumstances, and to laugh often. She was my first best friend, my lifelong confidant. She was a lot of things but she is and always will be irreplaceable in my heart.

She loved it when I would show her the outfits I would put together for the blog, we would go through the photos and she would tell me the ones she liked. If I were going out, she was always excited to see what I would wear. She was my biggest fan. She loved all things western and these photos were the last set she saw, she told me to go dancing in it with my hubs. Now every time I wear this skirt I will think of her.

I haven’t had it in me to write anything or dress up, maybe because I know I won’t be going in her room to show her, and to hear her say “oooh, that’s my favorite” or “that’s a head turner” but I wanted to post this one just for her. She had as much fun with this blog as I do, so I know she’d tell me to stop boo hooing, put on something pretty, and shine.

If you still have your mom, hug her tight you honestly can’t get enough of them.

Blessings,

Eden
