Wrap dress rant!
To some, this looks like a standard summer dress… but to my fellow Gen-Xers from my soooo beloved ’70-’80s, this is a darling throwback to the halter wrap that was so very popular. All the disco queens had one.
Insert mini-rant here. Why am I showing a vintage pattern you ask??? HMMPF!!! I thought it would be cute to share some actual pictures of these adorable vintage dresses, all in their grainy, polaroid one-step awesomeness that was the 70/80’s, but all that came up on Google images was ad after ad of where to “buy” one. I’m no tech wizard, but isn’t that what the shopping button is supposed to be for?? I miss the good old days where you could search an image and actually find what you are looking for, without being inundated with a crap ton of ads. Don’t make me pull this seatbeltless car over Google images and Pinterest. I am not heating on people trying to sell their goods, but geez, enough already. Okay, rant is over, now I guess now I just need to ball my fist yell at someone to “get off my internet lawn” to complete things old people say when they start a rant about the good old days.
All of that aside, This little throwback gives me the happies as most things from my youth do. However, I’ll skip the ginormous hair that could house a family of squirrels and the very heavy blue eyeshadow, that would normally accompany this outfit in yesteryear and instead replace it with my royal blue strappy gladiator heels.
There’s a reason this wrap style has remained through many decades, it’s flattering to the figure and nice and breezy for summer. You go dancing queen!
