Repurposed vintage

There are certain pieces in the vault that I just adore. I love all my pieces, but the adore-it lot is a much smaller one. I bought this super vintage skirt about 10 years ago. I am a sucker for velvet damask print. It was waaay to small in the waist for me so I refashioned it into an overskirt with a large velvet bow. Women were ridiculously skinny back in the day. This is a vintage size 5 and would be smaller than a double zero in today’s sizes.

I can wear this year-round. For warmer months, I wear it over lace shorts with a cute statement shoe.

I also style it with leggings and a cold shoulder sweater for chillier months. Of course, adding different shoes or accessories will punch it up.

Sometimes you can just refashion a piece that does not fit. I love it way more than I would have as a regular skirt. Thinking outside the fashion box is always a good thing!

Be you-tiful!
