With just a few days until LOVE day, I thought I would post something red. I am sure you have noticed by now that I wear a ridiculous amount of faux fur. I adore it, it's that little extra glam piece that always makes an outfit sing. Menswear, leather, anything plaid, and fur are my constant go-to’s. I have fur collars in just about every color to go with whatever outfit I dream up next. Another great thing about them is covering up a neckline you don’t particularly like.

Such was the case with this thrifted lovely. Vintage red & white houndstooth is very hard to find. In all my years of thrifting, I have only found it a couple of times and never a vintage suit…

Until now! When I saw the print, I grabbed it immediately. I didn’t really care about the cut, I told myself that I would alter whatever ugliness there was. Well, the cut is certainly not my style, it’s a little too matronly for me but I know I can zhoozh it up. Coming in at only $10, it was an easy choice. I would have paid that for the skirt alone.

I am not a super fan of the scalloped detailing, so when I have more time that part will probably get the ax. I also didn’t love the neckline on the jacket so a faux fur collar for the quick rescue. She needs a little work, but in the meantime, it’s a great outfit for LOVE month.

A very basic ivory turtleneck and Vince Camuto Kervan boots were the only other things needed to spruce it up. I will post it again when I actually restyle it.
