Transitional styling PINKS
We are now entering the transitional fashion months where the weather is still chilly but spring is on the calendar. Switching out boots for flip-flops is right around the corner. Layers are your best fashion friend until the temps catch up with the season. I am styling pinks today using a blazer and layers. Putting cool and warm weather pieces together creates textures that are perfect for this time of year.
I purchased this Anne Klein dusty pink wool blazer a couple of years ago, I almost didn’t buy it and I am so glad I did, it has become one of my favorite pieces. At just $8, I’ve gotten my money’s worth time and again.
As you know, a black turtleneck is a big staple in my closet. In the warmer months, I opt for sleeveless. They just create a chic canvas for whatever you put with it, here a leather floral skirt gives the warmth for the chill, but the floral gives the spring feels. The blazer pulls the pinks forward out of the skirt. A leather floral skirt is a perfect transitional piece.
You can never go wrong with winter white pants. They go with everything.
Same goes with a winter white turtleneck. I like to pair destoryed jeans with something a little fancy, like the rhinestone shoes with this outfit. A thrifted pink Burberry scarf gives it a nice dressy casual look. I posted this last year, but I wear this outfit often.
A tulle skirt says spring is near, but grounding it with suede boots, wool hat, and blazer pairs cool with warm styles.
Styling a skirt, even a formal one the way you normally would is a great way to tone down the formality but it still makes a fun statement outfit. The beret and cold shoulder sweater are more casual, but they get dressed up with this skirt and the skirt gets dressed down. Varying the shades of pink makes it all cohesive.
I can’t count how many times I use things that are not fashion pieces and incorporate them into an outfit. This cute pink throw blanket looks great on a chair, but it also makes a cute wrap as well! Nothing is off limits to create a unique outfit lol. Using shades from the same color family will almost always produce a cute outfit.
Blessings,
Eden
