The Look For Less Brooch& Ribbon

I love creating outfit aper posts, it’s always fun to see how close I can get using thrifted or inexpensive items. The fab look today is from one of my very favorite fashionistas, Victoria Fox. Sadly, she hasn’t posted anything in a long while but I do adore her ultra-glam style. My Pinterest board is full of her great creations.

A simple ribbon and brooch created all the drama for this outfit. What an easy and brilliant idea, Victoria!

This outfit is mostly about the details. The $6 vintage top was a GW find, the sleeves and button are very similar to the original look, and the new Boston proper pants were part of my last NBC haul. I had been looking for a while for wide-leg poly pants and was so happy to find them for such a crazy low price. $15 would have been a great deal, but they were on sale for just $11! The pants retailed on the BP site for almost $80.

I already had the brooch and the ribbon was $3. I will certainly be doing it again, and maybe some variations of it.

The white pieces by themselves would be rather boring, but just adding the small black details gives it an instant glam lift.

Always wanting to make inspo outfits my own, I try to change at least one or two things. For this one, I opted for a fedora and black and white stripe heels.

Ribbon and brooches are both inexpensive at Hobby Lobby, make sure to buy them on 1/2 price week! My cost came in right at $20 since I already had the other pieces. Not a bad price for such a close recreation.

Have a most wonderful week!
