The dress that stumped me!
Here is a fashion first my friends, a dress that stumped me! It is not unusual for me to wear something not in the way it was intended, but this time it was by accident lol.
I bought this adorable Navy Gingham dress by Crown & Ivy for just $8 at NBC’s big 4th of July sale. Such a cutie, I loved the unusual neckline. I thought it was the back at first but the brand tag and how the pockets laid had me convinced this was the way to wear it.
I paired it with a cute navy & white floppy hat and polka dot heels, I wore it, got compliments on it, took pix for the blog, I was very happy with this purchase…
UNTIL I went back to a different NBC location the next week and saw the same dress in RED. I love red so I decided I would have it in 2 colors. It was a larger size and it was the last one left, so I would need to take it in, and that’s when I noticed that the brand tag was on the opposite side than the navy one.
Had I worn this dress backward?? A quick internet search found one match, that confirmed YES, I wore it backward the first time lol. It also confirmed that $8 was a great price since it was on clearance for $40.
The pockets and belt can face either way, and it looks more normal with the red style. I wouldn’t say “normal” is my style most of the time lol. I did style this one more casually since I felt it had a picnic tablecloth vibe. A simple pair of red lace-up wedges and white hoop earrings and I have a perfectly acceptable summer get-together dress.
I like it both ways, but honestly prefer the navy style. A happy accident that I now have 2 different dresses in one. It had to happen eventually that I would be stumped lol.
Blessings,
Eden
