Shopping secret
Fellow fashion frugal-istas, I will let you in on where I score my best deals. I have been shopping at this chain since I was 16, so it’s been around a LOOOONG time. If you have followed my posts this far, you often see me reference NBC, Name brand clothing, Half of half is the name of the store.
The closest one is 3 hours from me so I only go when they are having storewide sales. They are in 7 states so if you are lucky enough to have one in yours, It’s worth the drive. I buy a lot of great designer brands there for ridiculously low prices. They do massive buyouts from popular retail stores and sell them for 80-90% off. Some are discontinued or end of season. Some are Closeouts or store closings (happened a lot during COVID) some are returns/damaged/display items. I am happy to sew on a button to save 90%.
The stores (at least here) are huge, so you will need to take your time when you go. These are new clothes, not thrift. The majority still have the original tag so you can see how much you are saving. They also sell Menswear as well as household items. They are closed on Tuesdays and get new stock every Wednesday. The tags are color-coded so every month they will have different crazy sales to make room for new merchandise. Like all swimwear for $2 or everything in the store $9 or less. Or my favorite, all footwear for $8 or less. I load up when they do that. I bought a Ralph Lauren adorbs swimsuit for $2 that still had the $98 tag. This store will put into perspective how much markup is in fashion.
Now, I can only vouch for the quality of items in our some of our Texas stores, I don’t know what they might be like in different states. I’ve shopped the ones in KS and OK but it’s been years ago. If you have similar discount stores in your state, please share the name of them so we can spread the frugal fashion love around!
Happy shopping,
Eden
