Festive sweater vest alternatives

Halloween is the kick start to the holiday season, it’s also when “festive sweaters” make their way into the clothing rotations. (WARNING!! potentially offensive opinion coming at cha) I think it’s appropriate that they tend to come out more in a month that’s all about scary costumes lol. You’ve seen them… the wallflower cousin of the fashion world.

Add a pair of crocs and it would be the ax-wielding clown of my fashion nightmares. Unless you teach kindergarten or have the title of great-grandma, just say NOOO. Vests are very flattering to a figure, I love and wear them all the time, but this is the anti-vest. Its loose shape is unflattering to most. BUT fashion is expression so if you really love these things then who I am to judge? More power to you. It’s just not my personal cup of tea. I prefer to use the colors of the season instead. Like this black and white skirt that I normally wear like this…

A stylish swing skirt that can have a Halloween flair with the right accessories. If you don’t want to be dramatic, it can be something small like just a belt with caged heels…

Adding a bright orange jacket to black stripes gives me all the festive fun of the season without any cartoon cats or witch hats.

This wool Michael Kors jacket is my favorite fall piece. I’ll be wearing it again next month. I could add orange heels & purse but just one pop of the orange will do.

The same jacket added to the cute high-rise trousers brings out the orange in the plaid.

There you have it, two festive outfit alternatives to the cartoon vest lol. Regardless of what you wear to show your spirit, as long as you love how you feel in it, that’s really all that matters.
