Can you believe a new year is right around the corner? A new chapter unfolds which is always a great feeling.

As a die-hard fashion frugal-ista, I found some pretty amazing thrifty finds in 2022. At the end of the year, it can be hard to pick my best buy, some things are a great price compared to retail, and others a great style. The award this year was BOTH, and goes to this beautiful red plaid Sargents coat by Free People. Originally coming in at $348, I bought this beauty for just $25!!! I am always a sucker for coats.

When looking it up, I found that I am not the only one who thought it was cute, it was in the show Nashville. You have to find them second-hand since they are no longer available. Even on resell sites they are going for around $150, so this was truly the buy of the year.

First, I styled it first just like the original photo. I wouldn’t have thought to use that top, but it actually looked pretty cute. I did a few variations of it with different hats, military and fedora, as well as boots. These are Ralph Lauren leather booties. Pulling from the leather collar I used leather pants for both outfits.

Next, I styled it the way I would wear it, a black turtleneck, leather pants, vintage Ralph Lauren over the knee boots, fedora, and a cute thrifted leather fringe purse. The boots were my best buy from last year, These $750 boots were a steal at just $18, they were like new. I went into fashion hyperventilation over that one lol. It’s only right that these 2 best buys should be styled together. $1000 set for $43. This is why I like to buy second-hand. Sooo much markup in the fashion industry.

Wearing otk boots WITH leather pants after 50? Yep, and you can too. Don’t be afraid to wear something just because some stick in the mud thinks you are too old for it. It’s usually the frumpily dressed Karen that has something to say.

Swoon! I am in coat luv y’all! You all know by now that I am mad for plaid anything, so this deal is the one to beat. I wonder what great buy I will find next year???
